Prediction and odds for the game: Wolves (6/5) vs Everton (5/2)
We are backing the home win
When: Monday 1st November 2021, Kick-off 20:00
Where: Molineux Stadium
On Monday night, Wolves will look to add to Everton’s recent woes, as Bruno Lage’s team welcome the Merseysider’s to Molineux.
The home side seems to have found form of late in the Premier League after an underwhelming start to life under new head coach Bruno Lage. The team from the Midlands are now four games unbeaten in the English top-flight, having won three times in the process. Only a stoppage-time equaliser from Leeds Rodrigo in their last league outing prevented Wolves from recording four straight wins, the team from Yorkshire held them to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.
One player who has been crucial to Wolves recent good form has been South Korean international Hee-Chan Hwang, who has scored three goals in as many league games for the home team.
Wolves recent home form in the Premier League has been poor, as they have lost four of their last five league matches at Molineux. A 2-1 win against Newcastle in their last home game in the top-flight ended a four-game losing home streak and suggested that better home results are on the way.
The honeymoon period for Toffee’s head coach Rafa Benitez is well and truly over after a humiliating 5-2 home defeat by Watford last time out. The team from Merseyside conceded four goals in the last 12 minutes in an incredible collapse. The defeat means that the visitors have suffered two straight defeats.
Their recent form has not been helped by the absence of Yerry Mina, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, which is the first-choice spine of the team for Benitez. Without the trio, Everton seem easy to beat. Only Mina of the trio has any chance of featuring in this clash for the Toffees which is bad news for their long-suffering supporters.
The team from Merseyside have struggled for victories on their travels of late in the Premier League, as Benitez’s team has won just one of their last six away games in the English top-flight. Unsurprisingly, considering their recent away record Everton have also kept just one clean sheet in their previous five matches on their travels.
The recent league matches between these two teams have been highly entertaining and high-scoring encounters. This game could follow suit with the home team high in confidence. We are backing Wolves to add to the pressure on Toffees head coach Benitez by recording a narrow win.
The other bet we recommend is to back over 2.5 goals scored, especially if Mina continues to miss out at the back, as he is the defender for Everton who commands set-pieces. Brazilian forward Richarlison should return to the starting line-up after coming off the bench last time out. He will be a threat too, as he has scored in five of his six appearances against Wolves. Everything points to goals in this clash.
Our tips: We are backing the home win at odds of 6/5 and/or over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 13/10. (All odds are taken from Bet365).[geosnippet id=3620]
