Prediction and odds for the game: Bayern Munich (2/5) vs Bayer Leverkusen (6/1)
We are backing over 3.5 goals scored at odds of 8/11
When: Saturday 5 March 2022, kick-off 14:30
Where: The Allianz Arena
On Saturday afternoon, Bayern Munich host Bayer Leverkusen at the Allianz Arena, in what could be an explosive top of the table clash in the Bundesliga.
Julian Nagelsmann’s team are once again sitting atop the Bundesliga table, eight points clear of second-placed Dortmund, who have struggled for title-winning consistency this season.
Bayern’s recent form has been good, as the Bavarians have won five of their last six matches in the German top-flight. The reigning champions have been highly potent in front of goal of late in the Bundesliga too, scoring at least two goals in five of their last six outings.
Nagelsmann’s team have also been strong on home soil of late, winning seven of their last eight matches in the Bundesliga, while also scoring at least two goals in six of the games in that stellar home run of form.
Bayern have dominated games against Bayer of late, winning the last five games against Leverkusen in all competitions, while scoring at least two goals in all five victories.
Bayern could well be without several key players for this clash. Lucas Hernandez will miss out through suspension, with Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka and Alphonse Davies all likely to miss the vital clash through injury.
Die Werkself have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in the Bundesliga this season. Only Bayern themselves and second-place Dortmund have been more prolific in the Bundesliga this season.
Gerard Seoane’s team are currently in third place in the Bundesliga table, six points behind second-place BVB. The visitors look in a healthy position to qualify for next year’s Champions League, as they are four points clear of fifth-place Freiburg.
Leverkusen’s recent league form has certainly aided their chances of a top-four finish this season. In fact, Bayer have won five of their last six matches in the Bundesliga.
Their highly potent attack has played a key role in the visitor’s lofty position in the table, as they have scored at least two goals in nine of their last ten matches in the German top-flight.
One slight negative for Leverkusen of late has been their recent away form, as they have lost three of their previous five Bundesliga games on their travels.
Bayer could well be without top goalscorer Patrik Schick, who could miss out due to a muscle injury.
Bayern Munich are the favourites for this clash, but Bayer Leverkusen certainly have the quality to cause the reigning champions problems.
We are going to look to the goals market for our bets. The first bet is over 3.5 goals scored, as both teams are highly potent in front of goal. The second bet we are backing is for Leverkusen’s winger Moussa Diaby to be an anytime goalscorer. The Frenchman has scored six goals in his last five Bundesliga appearances.
Our Tips: We are backing over 3.5 goals scored at odds of 8/11 and/or Moussa Diaby to be an anytime goalscorer at odds of 7/4. (All odds are taken from Bet365).[geosnippet id=3620]
