Wrexham will attempt to keep their historic season going strong when they host Sheffield United in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Wrexham

Ever since the introduction of their celebrity owners, things have been looking up for Wrexham Football Club. From the area to the team and infrastructure itself, they are riding a huge wave of momentum. Their primary goal this season, of course, is to return to the Football League. However, they’re currently enjoying an incredible run of form in the FA Cup, and they’ll be hoping they can continue that trend.

After seeing off a tough challenge from Solihull, Wrexham enjoyed one of their most famous days as they beat Coventry 4-3 in the FA Cup third round. They went on to beat Bromley in the league before falling to a penalty shootout loss against Altrincham in the FA Trophy. However, it didn’t take long for them to bounce back with huge victories over Maidstone and Gateshead to ensure they went top of the table.

Sheffield United

It already seems like a foregone conclusion that Sheffield United will earn promotion back to the Premier League. They are clear of third place and alongside Burnley, they just can’t seem to stop winning. So then, it makes sense for the Blades to view the FA Cup as a tournament they can do well in – but it depends on how much focus the coaching staff wants to put on getting the job done in the Championship.

The visitors finished off 2022 with wins over Coventry and Blackpool. United were held to a 1-1 draw with QPR to start the new year but since then, they’ve been on fine form. They eased to a 2-0 win over Millwall in the third round of the FA Cup before beating Stoke 3-1 on January 14th. Then, in what proved to be a tricky affair, they defeated Hull to continue putting a bit of pressure on the Clarets.

Conclusion

Wrexham are going to pour their heart and soul into this game and as a result, we’re expecting a really fun affair under the lights. We think they’ll go into the break at 1-1, regardless of whether or not they’re able to score first.

Alas, Sheffield United will then bring on a few of their key stars, and the tide will slowly begin to turn. The boys from Wales will be forced back and will need to sit on the draw, but they’ll be unable to do so.

United will score a late goal to progress into the fifth round, whereas Wrexham will be able to look back fondly on the journey they’ve undertaken.

Our tips (all taken from bet365): Draw/Sheff United (HT/FT) at 15/4 + over 2.5 goals at 10/11
