Prediction and odds for the game: Real Madrid (13/10) v PSG (9/5). Our prediction is back the draw at 27/10.

When: Tuesday 26th November 2019, Kick-off 8 PM

Where: Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid

The Spanish giants are enjoying a strong campaign in La Liga. However, their performances in the Champions League have not all been plain sailing.

In fact, Los Blancos have won just two of their four games in Group A. The visitors most disappointing result so far this season came in a 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture. The defeat in Paris is one of only two defeats this season in all competitions for the team from the Spanish capital.

Zinedine Zidane’s team have got their European campaign back on track of late with back-to back wins over Galatasaray. Los Blancos recorded a 6-0 thumping on the Turkish team in their last European outings.

For a European giant, the home sides recent record in the Champions League is not a great one, as they have won just three of their last seven games in the competition. They have also won just once in their last four home matches in the competition.

However, Zidane’s team will know that a victory is crucial in this clash, as they are currently five points behind the French visitors, so only a win will keep their slim hopes of winning the group alive.

PSG

The French giants have a hundred per cent record in the group so far, having won all four games so far, while keeping clean sheets in all four victories. PSG have been relatively prolific in the Champions League, having scored in their last 28 matches in Europe’s elite competition.

The Parisians have also suffered just one defeat in their last 11 matches in the Champions League. The Parisians are certainly tough opponents for any team in the competition.

PSG are even tough to beat on their travels, as the visitors have are unbeaten in five games on their travels while winning their previous four matches on their European travels. Thomas Tuchel’s team has been defensively solid of late on their travels in Europe’s big competition, keeping clean sheets in their last three away games.

PSG have another major positive in the fact that forward pair Kylian Mbappe and Neymar may both feature in this clash. The pair have not played together for the pair this season, mainly due to injuries.

Conclusion

Real Madrid have been in good form of late, especially in defence where they have conceded just once in six games in all competitions. Los Blancos face a challenge keeping up that record against the free-scoring visitors.

PSG finally look like a side capable of mounting a realistic challenge to win the Champions League trophy. For us, it is difficult to separate the pair and we are sitting on the fence by backing the draw. Both teams are good going forward, though so our secondary bet would be the over 2.5 goals. Not great value, but realistic all the same.

Verdict: Back the draw at odds of 27/10 and/or the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 8/15. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
