Tottenham Hotspur will face Norwich City this week as they battle for a place in the quarter-finals of this season’s FA Cup.

Tottenham

While the last few weeks have certainly been a struggle for Spurs, there’s still a small hint of hope that they could fluke their way towards a strong end to the campaign. A lot of that will depend on whether or not Jose Mourinho can get the most out of these players, especially with the lack of firepower he has at his disposal right now. They’re a pretty fun team to watch if only due to how erratic and inconsistent they appear to be, and we’re intrigued to see whether or not that trend continues against Norwich.

A shock 2-0 win over Manchester City certainly came out of the blue, before two dramatic 3-2 wins over Southampton and Aston Villa caused a bit of a stir in North London. Unfortunately, it’s all gone a bit wrong from there, as they went on to lose 1-0 to RB Leipzig in the Champions League, 2-1 to Chelsea in the Premier League and 3-2 to Wolves at the weekend.

Norwich

The atmosphere at Carrow Road lately has been one of acceptance, as they prepare for a tough run-in as the relegation battle goes down to the wire. Still, recent results have caused something of a ripple effect for Canaries fans, many of whom wholeheartedly believe that they’re in with a chance of survival. They’re going to throw everything against the wall in the hope of seeing what sticks, and that should make for an intriguing few months of action.

Norwich fought Tottenham pretty close in a 2-1 loss back in late January before a nice 2-1 win against Burnley and a dull 0-0 against fellow strugglers Newcastle. They proceeded to lose 1-0 to Liverpool and 3-0 to Wolves, but on Friday Night Football last week, they shocked a whole lot of people by beating Leicester 1-0.

Conclusion

Tottenham were able to prove against Wolves that they’re still capable of putting the ball in the back of the net, even in the absence of Kane and Son. We think Mourinho will see the FA Cup as a competition his side could legitimately contend for, and as such, we believe they’re going to come right at Norwich in a really entertaining back and forth game. In the end the Canaries won’t have enough in their locker to cope with the might of Spurs, leading to Tottenham progressing into the quarter-finals.

As is the case with most entertaining games, we think there are going to be plenty of goals – which is why we’re backing the over 2.5 goals market.

Verdict: Back the home win at odds of 4/7 and the over 2.5 goals scored at odds of 8/15. (All odds are taken from bet365).
