Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (4/6) v Crystal Palace (19/4)

We are backing the home win

When: Saturday, 4th July 2020, Kick-off 15:00

Where: The King Power Stadium

On Saturday afternoon, Leicester will host Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the King Power Stadium, as the Foxes look to consolidate their top-four position.

Leicester

The Foxes position in the Premier League’s top-five is suddenly looking in jeopardy after a poor return to action following the restart of play. Brendan Rodgers team have failed to win any of their four games after the restart. Not only did they exit the FA Cup against Chelsea, but they also suffered a 2-1 defeat at Everton last time out.

The lack of a win in three Premier League games has seen the chasing pack make up a lot of ground on the Foxes in the race for the Champions League spots for next season. They are now just a point clear of fourth-place Chelsea and a further two clear of Manchester United and Wolves.

Even the Foxes usually strong home form has fallen by the wayside of late, as they have just two of their previous eight league games on home soil in the English top-flight, including winning just one of their last four Premier League games at the King Power.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles have already all-but achieved their season objective of avoiding relegation this season. Roy Hodgson’s team will now be targeting a top-half finish, as they are just three points outside the top ten in the English top-flight.

The visitor’s chances of a top-half finish this season has taken a hit due to two straight league defeats against Liverpool and last time out Burnley. The Eagles have failed to score in those two recent defeats, which is unlikely to be a surprise, as only Norwich have scored fewer goals than the visitors in the Premier League this season.

Unsurprisingly, considering their lack of firepower, Palace’s recent league games have been low-scoring, with five of their previous six matches producing under 2.5 goals.

Palace have struggled for victories on their travels in the Premier League of late, as they have won just twice in their last nine away games. Both of those wins have come in their last three matches on the road, though. Although the Eagles away matches in the league have not been that high-scoring, there have been over 1.5 goals scored in six of their last seven league matches on their travels.

Conclusion

Leicester will now be looking over their shoulders nervously at the teams below them. The Foxes have been poor since the restart, but we believe they will have enough quality to get back to winning ways in this clash. However, it may be a tight game, which is why we are also backing under 2.5 goals scored.

Verdict: We are backing the home win at odds of 4/6 and/or under 2.5 goals scored at the same odds. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
