Prediction and odds for the game: Leicester (21/10) v Manchester United (6/5)

We are backing the draw at odds 5/2

When: Sunday, 26th July 2020, Kick-off 16:00

Where: The King Power Stadium

On Sunday afternoon, Leicester and Manchester United go head-to-head at the King Power Stadium, in a game that will decide who will take one of the Champions League qualification spots from the Premier League.

Leicester

The Foxes looked to be Champions League certainties for much of the campaign. However, a poor recent run of form has seen Brendan Rodgers team slip to fifth-place, a point behind the third-place visitors and also fourth-place Chelsea.

The scenario seems simple for Leicester, they need to win. A draw would be good enough for a top-four finish if Chelsea suffers a defeat at home to Wolves. However, if the Blues pick up anything from the game, then Frank Lampard’s team will be in Europe’s elite competition next season.

Leicester’s recent league form has highly inconsistent of late, as the Foxes have won just once in their previous four matches in the Premier League. Last time out, the team from the Midlands suffered a 3-0 hammering at the hands of Leicester.

The Foxes recent home form has been highly inconsistent. However, they have won four of their last six league matches at the King Power Stadium.

Manchester United

A 1-1 home draw against West Ham last time out set up a tense final day for everybody associated with the men from Manchester. The draw against the Hammers means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team are undefeated in their last 13 Premier League matches. However, two of their last three matches in the league have finished in draws. If the Red Devils had won those games, they would have already sealed a spot in the Champions League for next season.

The visitors have been highly prolific in front of goal of late in the English top-flight, scoring at least twice in six of their last seven league matches. They have not just been good in attack this season, as only the Premier League’s top-two has conceded fewer goals than the Red Devils.

United have been strong on their travels in the Premier League, as they are undefeated in six league matches, having recorded three straight wins. As in their general league games, the visitors have been prolific on the road, scoring at least twice in their last three away matches.

Conclusion

This is a crucial clash between two teams who have stuttered of late. United may be undefeated of late, but they have not been at their best. Leicester have struggled for form since the restart. We are backing this game to finish all-square. The bet we are taking a punt on is under 2.5 goals, as we think the two teams may cancel each other out.

Verdict: We are backing the draw at odds of 5/2 and/or under 2.5 goals at odds of 10/11. (All odds are taken from Bet365).
